Man dressed as woman in Guruvayur raises suspicion; Police thwart murder plan

GURUVAYUR: The Guruvayur Temple Police arrested a jilted lover and his gang who were roaming around the Guruvayur temple with a heinous murder plan. The suspects, identified as Muttam Cholamattathil Prasad (43), Muttam Ottaplakkal Adarsh ​​(23), Mathappara Thaiparambil Bineesh (30), Thottukara Thengil Shahid Ali (24), and Manacaud Karakunnel Stephen (32), all natives of Thodupuzha, were arrested by the Guruvayur Temple Police.

The incident came to light when a police team on patrol yesterday morning spotted Prasad dressed as a woman in suspicious circumstances in the western part of the temple. The murder plans came to light when the police grilled him in custody. The accused first told the police that he had come to meet his friend who works at a spa in Thrissur. Meanwhile, the police also arrested the rest of Prasad's gang, who were travelling in an Innova car. The details of the murder attempt came to light during the subsequent interrogation.

Prasad, a married man, fell in love with a young woman who worked at a spa in Thrissur. The two even lived together for a long time. After Prasad's wife came to know about this, the woman ended this relationship and fell in love with another young man. Prasad came to Guruvayur with his friends to exact revenge. The accused were produced in court and remanded.
