KOCHI: A massive fire broke out at the Grand Malabar Hotel in Nedumbassery on Monday. The restaurant was completely gutted in the fire. Three Fire and Rescue Services units battled the blaze for around 30 minutes before bringing it under control.
The fire broke out at around noon while customers were having food at the restaurant, according to initial reports. All those inside were safely evacuated, authorities said. The fire is believed to have started at a tea shop in front of the restaurant before spreading to the Grand Malabar Hotel. No casualties have been reported so far. Further details are awaited.
