Major security lapse: Minister K M Shaji forced to walk as Yuva Morcha workers block vehicle

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A major security lapse was reported in Thiruvananthapuram after Yuva Morcha workers stopped the vehicle of Minister KM Shaji and forced him to get out. The minister got out of the vehicle and tried to leave in an autorickshaw, but the protesters stopped that vehicle as well. He then got down and walked away. The incident took place near Vanross Junction, close to Palayam.

The minister was travelling without a pilot vehicle or escort when Yuva Morcha workers stopped his vehicle. As the protesters stood in front of the vehicle raising slogans, Shaji got out and boarded an autorickshaw. However, the Yuva Morcha workers stopped the autorickshaw too, forcing the minister to get down and walk away. The incident is being seen as a serious security lapse.

Meanwhile, tensions between the Congress and BJP have intensified following a black-flag protest by Youth Congress workers against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The BJP and Yuva Morcha have launched black-flag protests against ministers across the state. The Thiruvananthapuram DCC office also came under attack.
