‘No other govt scheme has been accepted by people to this extent’; Transport Minister on 'Priyadarshini'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister C P John said the Priyadarshini scheme, which allows women to travel free on KSRTC buses, has been a major success. He said no other government scheme in recent times has been accepted by the public on such a large scale, and that the project has significantly transformed household budgets.

The minister also clarified that the scheme will not be extended to more buses immediately. He was speaking in an interview with a private television channel on the occasion of the Priyadarshini scheme completing one month.
