SIVAGIRI: Chief Minister VD Satheesan announced that the state government will extend complete assistance to upgrade Sivagiri—a spiritual site sanctified by the life and presence of Sree Narayana Guru—into a pilgrimage center of international standards.

He was speaking to reporters during his maiden visit to the Sivagiri Maha Samadhi after assuming office as the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister emphasised that his administration envisions a Kerala aligned with the egalitarian ideals dreamed of by Sree Narayana Guru. He stated that his visit served as an occasion to renew his pledge to work toward a harmonious society where citizens stand united, transcending the boundaries of caste and religion.

"I stand before the Maha Samadhi of Gurudevan, whose gentle words created a silent revolution that transformed the political and social landscape of Kerala. His ideals and philosophy will guide us in shaping our state into a model society where everyone lives together in fraternity and mutual respect," Satheesan remarked.

The Chief Minister arrived at the Mutt Guest House around 8:30 AM, where he was formally received by the leadership of the Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust. The welcoming delegation was led by Trust President Swami Satchidananda, General Secretary Swami Shubhangananda, Treasurer Swami Saradananda, alongside Swami Jnanatheertha, Swami Vishalananda, and Swami Sureswarananda.

During the reception, Swami Satchidananda honored the Chief Minister by presenting him with a ceremonial shawl (ponnada). Satheesan then proceeded to the Maha Samadhi to offer floral tributes at the shrine of Sree Narayana Guru, where he subsequently received prasadam from the Trust President. Former MLA Varkala Kahar and Advocate K.P. Anilkumar were also present during the visit.

Lauding the Chief Minister's leadership, Swami Satchidananda remarked that the people of Kerala view V.D. Satheesan as a leader deeply committed to principled politics. He expressed strong public confidence that the state would witness excellent governance and comprehensive growth under his administration.

The Trust President extended the Sivagiri Mutt's blessings and greetings to the Chief Minister, praying that he be granted the strength to rise above sectarian lines and foster a truly progressive society.
