PALAKKAD: Moments after the Lottery Department confirmed receiving the winning lottery ticket in Kannur, a Tamil Nadu native entered the fray, claiming that he bought the ticket that won the Onam Bumper 2026. Sadiq visited the Palakkad SP office, saying he had lost the original ticket but had a photo of it on his mobile phone.

The police have initiated an investigation into the matter. The Tamil Nadu native came forward with the complaint after news emerged that the winner had submitted the Onam Bumper winning ticket through a bank in Kannur. The individual who submitted the winning ticket (number TL 360615) to the bank had previously requested that their identity not be disclosed. K. Inbasekar, Director of the State Lotteries Department, stated that the claimant has submitted the necessary documents to receive the prize money and that these documents are currently being verified.
