Three set on fire following brawl in Thiruvananthapuram bar; probe ongoing

VENJARAMOODU: Three people were set on fire by another after a brawl broke out while consuming alcohol. The incident took place last night at a bar in Vembayam Junction.

Arun, a native of Irinjayam, Naufal, a native of Thekkada, and Riyas, a native of Vembayam, were injured in the incident. Police said that Aneesh, a native of Nannattukavu, set fire to the three. He also suffered burns. Furniture and other items in the bar were charred. There were more than 22 people in the bar at the time of the incident. Many ran out in panic after the fire and smoke rose.

Earlier, there was an argument between Aneesh and three others. After this, Aneesh went outside, returned with a can of petrol, and set fire to three of them. The fire was brought under control by the fire force. The Venjaramoodu police first shifted the injured to the Taluk Hospital and then to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
