PALAKKAD: A snake bit a nurse on duty at the government health centre. The snake, a viper bit the nurse identified as Misiriya of Chalissery Health Centre in Palakkad. She is presently undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The incident happened two days ago. The snake bit her when she was standing at the back of the primary health center. The local residents said the area surrounding the hospital has become dense with thick vegetation.

She was shifted to the private hospital in Kunnamkulam after her condition was serious. The condition of Misiriya, who was in the ICU for two days, is stated to be stable now. A nurse was bitten by a snake at the government health centre, which receives hundreds of patients every day. The incident has sparked protests from local residents, who have raised concerns over the condition of the hospital premises.
