Youth bitten by snake brings same snake to hospital in Kollam

KOLLAM: A young man who was bitten by a snake brought the same snake to the hospital in Kollam, believing that identifying it would help doctors provide the correct antivenom.

The incident took place at the Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital. Ashley, a resident of Pallikkal in Kottarakkara, was bitten by the snake while he was taking a shirt from a clothesline in the courtyard of his house.

After being bitten, Ashley caught the snake and took it with him to the Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital. He reportedly brought the snake to help identify the species and ensure that he received the appropriate antivenom.

Hospital authorities said Ashley received the necessary initial treatment after reaching the hospital in time. Doctors said his condition is being monitored.
