‘Chutney stunt’ at thattukada in Kollam; Police take KAAPA accused into custody

KOLLAM: The police have arrested a man for turning violent after he was not served chutney at a thattukada in Kannanalloor. The arrested is Ajmal (36) of Pankonam in Mukhathala. Apart from the attacks, he is also an accused in drug cases. The Kottiyam police arrested him under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAAPA).

There are almost four criminal cases against him including the one unleashed in the thattukada. KAAPA case accused was arrested as part of Operation Toofan, an anti-drug operation. The Kottiyam police arrested him from his house on the directions of Chathannur ACP. He was produced in the court and remanded. Apart from this, he had been taken into custody five times in various cases.
