17 movies released in February and most of them flopped; one film still running with best collection

The loss figures for films released in February have been released while producers are repeatedly saying that film stars should reduce their remuneration and that the Malayalam film industry is in crisis. The producers' association has released the figures for 16 of the 17 films released last month. The Kerala Film Producers Association has said that the figures for the film 'Thadavu' are not available. The cost of 16 films and the collections received from them from the theaters have been released.

A total of Rs 75.23 crore was spent on the 16 films. All these films received a mere Rs 23.55 crore from the theaters. Four of the films released in February are still continuing to be shown in theaters. Bromance, Officer on Duty, Chattuli and Get Set Baby are still showing in theaters. Three films, Izha, Love Dale and Narayaneente Moonnaanmakkal, were released in Malayalam on February 6. The budget of the film Izha was Rs 63.83 lakhs but the collection from the theater was only Rs 45,000. Love Daleel, which was made on a budget of Rs 1.6 crore, collected only Rs 10,000 from the theater.

The film Narayaneente Moonnaanmakkal, which cost Rs 5.48 crores, collected Rs 33.58 lakhs from the theater. The films Bromance, Daveed and Painkili were released on February 14. Of these, Bromance, which cost Rs 8 crores, has collected Rs 4 crores so far. The film is still running. Daveed, which was made on a budget of Rs 9 crores, has collected Rs 3.5 crores from the theaters. Painkili, which was made on a budget of Rs 5 crores, has collected Rs 2.5 crores. The budget of the film Officer on Duty, which was released on February 13, was Rs 13 crores. The film is still running and has collected Rs 11 crores so far. According to the producers, this is the highest-grossing film released last month.

On February 21, the films Chattuli, Get Set Baby and Urul were released. Chattuli had a budget of Rs 3.4 crore. It collected just Rs 32 lakh from the theaters. Get Set Baby's budget was Rs 9.99 crore. This film, which is still showing in theaters, has collected Rs 1.40 crore so far. Urul was made with a budget of Rs 25 lakh. This film collected Rs 1 lakh from the theaters. Machante Maalakha, which was made with a budget of Rs 5.12 crore, collected Rs 40 lakh from the theaters.

Athma Saho, which was made with a budget of Rs 1.5 crore, collected just Rs 30,000 from the theaters. The budget of the film Ariku, which was released on February 28, was Rs 1.5 crore. The theatrical share of this film was Rs 55,000. The budget of the film Idi Mazha Kaattu, which was released on the same day, was Rs 5.74 crore. This film received only Rs 2.10 lakh from the theaters. The film 'Aap Kaise Ho?' was made on a budget of Rs 2.50 crore. This film received only Rs 5 lakh from the theaters. The film Randaam Yaamam also had a budget of Rs 2.5 crore but it received Rs 80,000 from the theaters.
