Actor Hareesh Kanaran has levelled serious allegations against production controller and producer NM Badusha, claiming that he borrowed around Rs 20 lakh from him and never returned the money. Hareesh further alleged that after he raised a complaint with the AMMA association, Badusha used his influence to remove him from several film projects. According to Hareesh, this intervention caused the long break in his acting career.
Hareesh said he had formally approached the AMMA general secretary regarding the unpaid amount. However, he later found himself gradually excluded from movie roles. He added that several others in the industry have had similar experiences. Although he had hinted at the issue in a previous online interview, he had chosen not to reveal Badusha’s name at the time.
“During the construction of my house, I asked Badusha to return my money. He promised to pay it back after one of his films released, but that never happened. Later, when Ajayante Randam Moshanam started shooting, I was not called. Tovino even asked why I wasn’t part of the film and later told me the team claimed I didn’t have available dates. I lost many roles like this. Now that I’ve spoken openly, I may lose more films,” Hareesh said.
