'Famous actor's betrayal drove me to suicide attempt'; actress Heera Rajagopal's shocking allegations

Actress Heera Rajagopal has revealed that she had attempted suicide 25 years ago. Heera is known for her roles in films like Thiruda Thiruda, Kadhal Kottai, and Sathi Leelavathi. She also played key roles in Malayalam movies such as Nirnayam, Minnaminuginum Minnukettu, and Oru Abhibhashakante Case Diary.

In her blog, Heera wrote that she had once thought about suicide after being heartlessly abandoned by someone she was in love with, who also spread defamatory rumours about her. She said the man she loved was a famous actor. When he suffered a spinal injury and was bedridden, she took care of him and stayed by his side. However, one morning, he suddenly left her, betraying her trust.

After he left, rumours began circulating that she was addicted to drugs, had an excessive sexual appetite, and was an alcoholic. Heera revealed that she reached a point where she felt life was no longer worth living after the fans of the actor started spreading these accusations.

She shared an archived blog post from January 2025, stating that the actor also played a role in publicly maligning her image. “I couldn't understand how someone I loved, supported, and encouraged turned into a villain overnight,” she wrote. “His brainwashed fans hurled abuse and slander at me, questioned my dignity, and tried to ruin my reputation. That's when I began thinking about ending my life,” she said.

Heera further claimed that the man was a sadist who falsely implicated her in a fabricated case. He accused her of being mentally unstable, an alcoholic, and overly sexually driven. Unable to bear the continuous pain and defamation, she said she again considered suicide.
