AMARAVATI: A sudden blast inside Amaravati Central prison sent shock waves to security officials on late Saturday night. According to reports, the explosion was caused by a country bomb. A loud clamour on Saturday night alerted the security officials, who all rushed to the spot befuddled.

No one was injured in the bomb blast, but the officials are yet to solve the mystery of how the country bomb made its way inside the jail premises. The blast took place near the kitchen area of the jail. The bomb squad has reached the spot and is conducting an investigation. More security officials are at the spot after fear spread about more such bombs in other parts of the jail.

A detailed investigation has been launched into the incident while all CCTV footage will be scrutinized. The bomb was in the shape of a plastic ball.
