Bus buried under massive landslide in Himachal; 18 people killed

SHIMLA: At least 18 people were killed after a bus was buried under a massive landslide in Bilaspur district on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. near the Bhallu bridge in the Bardhin area of Bilaspur. The private bus was travelling from Marotan to Ghumarwin when the tragedy struck. Large amounts of mud, rocks, and tree debris fell directly onto the bus, crushing its roof completely. The vehicle was entirely buried under the landslide.

According to reports, there were 35 passengers on board. 18 people died, while rescue teams managed to pull out two girls and a boy alive. The mother of one of the rescued girls was among those killed. The injured have been admitted to the Bardhin Hospital in Bilaspur. Authorities said that the bus driver and conductor were also among the dead. Further details about the victims are awaited.
