THANE: Uddhav Thackeray suffered setback following the loss of power in Maharashtra, as many of his supporters joined the Shinde camp. But a recent development has been an even bigger set back as Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde introduced two people to the media. Two commoners, Champa Singh Thapa and Moreshwar Raja, were warmly received to the faction by wrapping a shawl around them. Both of them have served in 'Matoshree', the residence of former Shiv Sena president Bal Thackeray, for three decades.

The absence of these two people is sure to backfire on Uddhav, as they will be privy to many secrets of the Thackeray family for the past thirty years.

Champa Singh Thapa was a confidant who cared for Bal Thackeray devotedly for 27 years before his death in November 2012, helping him with daily tasks. It is also worth remembering that when Thackeray died, Uddhav took special care to keep Thapa by his side while performing the last rites. It was Thapa who used to answer Bal Thackeray's phone calls. He was also assigned to convey Thackeray's messages to top leaders. Moreshwar Raja has been working at Bal Thackeray's residence in suburban Bandra, Mumbai for the past 35 years.

After welcoming the two, Shinde said that they had come with him to represent the real Shiv Sena. Along with them, Palghar Zilla Parishad president Vaidehi Vadan and some members of the local body joined the Shinde faction on the occasion.
