
KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said 97% of the election promises over the past ten years have been executed by the LDF. He explained the various projects executed during this period in the press meet convened.
‘Presenting the progress report of the LDF. Out of the 900 promises, 97% have been implemented and the remaining are nearing completion. Land and housing are the dreams of ordinary people. The LIFE Mission was brought to make this a reality. Under this project, five lakh houses have already been completed. If there are four members in a family, we can ensure a safe home for 20 lakh people.
In addition, Punargeham Project has been implemented for fishermen. As part of it, 2,782 houses and 738 flats have been handed over. Title deeds have been distributed to 4,56,689 families. If officials had not been engaged in SIR duties, this number would have exceeded five lakhs.
We have been able to free 64,006 families from extreme poverty. Only a few countries in the world have achieved extreme poverty eradication. No other state in our country has taken steps to eradicate extreme poverty. An amount of Rs 1,000 is being given to 16 lakh housewives. Vayojana Commission has been formed. Kerala has become investment-friendly. Services are now delivered to people more efficiently via K Smart.
Kerala is the state with the highest number of appointments made through PSC. 3,13,202 appointments were made. The upper age limit for applications has been increased, providing more opportunities. More employment opportunities have been created. Under the ‘Connect to Work’ scheme, financial assistance has been given to 75,376 youths. Free education has been ensured up to degree level. Infrastructure development has been strengthened, and roads have been improved. Earlier, travel through the Wayanad Ghat road would be disrupted during rains and that is why the construction of the tunnel road has now begun,’ said the chief minister.
