Ansiba’s complaint: Kochi Police summon actress Lakshmipriya for questioning

KOCHI: In a significant development following actress Ansiba Hassan’s harassment complaint, the Kochi police have summoned actress Lakshmipriya to record her statement. Lakshmipriya has been directed to appear before investigators on Monday at 11:30 AM.

The move follows a formal statement recorded by Ansiba on Sunday morning at the Thrikkakara Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) office. The ongoing probe stems from a detailed complaint Ansiba previously submitted to the Chief Minister of Kerala, alleging that she was subjected to severe verbal abuse and mistreatment by Lakshmipriya and Sub-Inspector Reshma of the Thrippunithura Women’s Police Cell.

Upon receiving the grievance, the Chief Minister’s office forwarded the matter to the State Police Chief, who subsequently directed the City Police Commissioner to initiate an inquiry. The Thrikkakara ACP was placed in charge of the investigation and ordered to submit a comprehensive report.

"I have detailed the harrowing experience I faced at the hands of both the actress and the police officer," Ansiba told reporters outside the ACP office.

During the media briefing, Ansiba also levelled serious, unspecified allegations against actor Tini Tom. When questioned about potential legal proceedings against him, she stated that she is currently consulting with her legal counsel before taking the next step.

The escalating controversy comes at a turbulent time for the Malayalam film industry. The executive committee of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) is scheduled to convene for a crucial meeting on Monday. Internal sources confirm that show-cause notices have already been served to four members. The leadership of the actors' guild is expected to officially clarify its stance on the unfolding controversies post-meeting.
