ALUVA: It was a long day at V.D. Satheesan's residence 'Devaki' as anxiety prevailed over the chief minister’s announcement from New Delhi. The leaders and workers who waited for the announcement left the place by 9 pm after learning that the decision had been postponed to Thursday. Satheesan did not come out or meet the workers or the media.

Satheesan, who had been absent for two days amid intensifying talks in Delhi, reached his Desom residence on Wednesday morning. In the morning, appointed MLAs Muhammad Shiyas, V.E. Abdul Gafoor, and K.P. Naushadali reached his home. In the evening, Kochi Mayor V.K. Minimol visited Satheesan.

By noon, more leaders and activists, including women, arrived, and Devaki became crowded. People poured in from nearby districts. By 4 pm, slogans were chanted in favour of Satheesan and Congress flags were waved, creating a festive atmosphere.

Confident party workers said that V.D. Satheesan would become the Chief Minister no matter what, or else warned of serious consequences. Meanwhile, they also expressed their protest at the delay in the announcement.
