HYDERABAD: Assets worth crores, including cash and gold, were found in a search conducted at the house of a Tehsildar, suspended for bribery. More than five crore rupees worth of assets were seized during a search conducted at the flats and houses of Thummakomma Sucharita, a tehsildar in Shamirpet, Hyderabad. Sucharitha is currently in judicial custody in a bribery case of Rs 30 lakh. The search was conducted as part of the investigation into this case.
In the search, it was found that Sucharita owned 2.17 acres of agricultural land in Siddipet, three flats in Hyderabad, two house plots, two expensive cars, gold and diamonds worth Rs 1.2 crore, currency notes worth Rs 12 lakh, and bank deposits worth Rs 38 lakh. Authorities say the market value of the assets could be even higher. Sucharita claimed all this as her ancestral property handed over to her during succession. However, the report says that she could not produce any documents to clarify this. Earlier, too, there were complaints and allegations of corruption against Sucharita. It is believed that Sucharita acquired all this wealth through illegal means.
Further investigation has been initiated regarding her assets. It is believed that there are benami transactions too. A case has also been registered against Sucharita for illegal acquisition of wealth.
