KOCHI: Actor and Palakkad MLA Ramesh Pisharody said efforts are ongoing to bring back members who resigned from AMMA. Pisharody said that a new committee will be formed soon, and they will effectively handle the issues raised by the members. Speaking to the media in Kochi, Pisharody said he would not take permanent charge of AMMA.
Ramesh Pisharody:
“An ad hoc committee is technically a paper committee. The ad hoc committee's responsibility is to hold elections and find new office bearers in the near future. It is not a committee with the authority to transact financial matters. But we all know each other. As such, we are holding discussions and efforts to resolve current issues as part of the organisation's well-being.
Ganesh Kumar and Shajohn held the first meeting of the ad hoc committee yesterday, online and with others in the AMMA office. The decisions taken in the meeting have not been made public. The main goal at present is to hold elections for the new committee as soon as possible.
I am mentally hurt seeing the current state of AMMA, an organisation that cares for the well-being of its members and has done so much in the last few decades. I blame the current turmoil on the communication gap between members. It will be sorted out. We intend to entrust the task of AMMA to a committee that will efficiently resolve the issues raised by individuals.
I have spoken to all the members who have resigned from the committee in the last few days. I spoke to Ansiba for over an hour. I am listening to all of them. How did the problems arise? We are currently discussing how to resolve them.
Some people react very emotionally and talk the same to the media. This is of no help but only makes the problem worse. Everything will be resolved. The new committee will be formed soon. They will look into everything thoroughly.
I will not be taking up a permanent position. I have things to do in Palakkad. I came to know that I was given the responsibility of the ad hoc committee through the news.”
