Fire breaks out in KSRTC Swift Bus carrying 30 passengers

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A fire broke out in the KSRTC Swift Bus Tuesday morning at 6.30 am. The incident happened at Attingal Mamam in Thiruvananthapuram. The bus that caught fire was coming towards capital city from Kannur.

When the bus reached Mamom, the driver noticed smoke emanating from the bottom of the vehicle. He immediately stopped the bus and asked the passengers to evacuate. Meanwhile, the fire started spreading from the bottom. The fire department was later informed. The fire has been extinguished. There were 30 passengers in the bus and all are reported to be safe. The initial conclusion is that a short circuit caused the fire. KSRTC has started an investigation into the incident.
