Passenger injured as boulder hits KSRTC bus in Idukki

IDUKKI: A Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus met with a frightening accident in the early hours of Thursday after a massive boulder broke off a hillside and smashed into the vehicle, leaving one passenger injured.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 AM at the 40th Mile near Peruvanthanam in the Idukki district. The Kottayam-bound KSRTC swift bus, which was operating via Kumily, was carrying around 50 passengers when the rockfall happened.
The boulder struck the rear section of the bus, causing significant damage to the back rows. A passenger identified as Raju, a resident of Pallikkathodu who was seated in the rear, sustained injuries in the impact. Local authorities confirmed that while he required medical attention, his injuries are fortunately reported to be non-life-threatening. The remaining passengers escaped unhurt.
