THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Pinarayi Vijayan, who resigned as the Chief Minister of Kerala after the election defeat, decided to move into a rented house in the capital city. Pinarayi Vijayan moved to the rented house in Bakery Junction after returning from attending the CPM Politburo meeting in New Delhi. Immediately after resigning, Pinarayi vacated Cliff House and moved to Chintha Flats in the capital city, and it was thought the athe former CM would continue his stay in the apartment. However, a change in decision was made, and Pinarayi Vijayan, along with his family, will now be at the rented house in the city for the coming five years.

Meanwhile, there has been no decision on Pinarayi taking over the opposition leader's post. The Politburo has not yet clarified its position on the matter. CPM General Secretary MA Baby evaded the questions regarding the opposition leader at the press conference held after the PB meeting. Meanwhile, the leadership decided to support Pinarayi Vijayan despite the humiliating election defeat. Baby said that Pinarayi Vijayan alone should not take the moral responsibility for the defeat, but that it is the collective responsibility. Baby clarified that mistakes will be corrected and the party will seriously consider whether there is a need for change in leadership.
