Pushed woman to railway track, attempted sexual assault; History sheeter arrested in Thrissur

CHERUTHURUTHY: A man who tried to molest a young woman by pushing her onto the tracks in broad daylight was caught by locals and handed over to the Wadakkancherry police. Mulloorkkara native Sudheesh (26) was arrested in the incident.

The incident took place at the Mulloorkkara railway crossing around 6 pm on Thursday. The 22-year-old native of Mulloorkkara, who was returning from college, was ambushed by the culprit as he tried to tear her clothes and beat her. The accused, who stopped the young woman on the railway track, grabbed her by the hair and pushed her onto the railway track. The accused tried to injure her by hitting her head on the tracks. Hearing the commotion and the cry for help, locals rushed to the spot. The FIR states that the young woman managed to escape by luck, as the accused had the intention to kill her. It is learnt that Sudheesh is a drug addict and an accused in several cases. The Wadakkancherry police have registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and started an investigation.
