THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A boy of class ten ended his life following a dispute that broke out over the use of mobile phone. The boy identified as Vaikash (15) of Arikil at Kuttichal in the capital city was found hanging using a shawl in his house. He was a student of P R Willaim School. He took the drastic step after his parents asked him to reduce the use of phone and concentrate more on his studies.

Vaikash's parents had the other day met his teachers of the school and tuition centre. Since he was in the 10th class, the teachers asked his parents to make him pay more attention on his studies and reduce the use of mobile phone. When Vaikash reached home after school, he asked for the phone, but his parents refused to give and this led to a fight at home.

Vaikash, who was upset, went to his room and closed the door. When the boy did not come out even after late at night, his parents knocked on the door, but there was no response. When they looked through the window from outside, they saw him hanging using a shawl. They broke opened the door with the help of locals and rushed him to the hospital, but could not save his life. The body is presently kept in the hospital mortuary. The Kattakada police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
