HYDERABAD: While many envy a towering stature, for one Hyderabad man, being "head and shoulders above the rest" was becoming a literal pain in the neck. In a heartwarming turn of events that has captured social media's attention, a local bus conductor has finally been rescued from the physical toll of his own height.
Ameen Ahmed Ansari, a conductor with the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC), stands at a staggering 6 feet 6 inches. While his height certainly made him stand out in a crowd, it turned the narrow aisles of city buses into a daily obstacle course.
Compelled to hunch over constantly to avoid hitting the ceiling, Ansari’s workday became a marathon of physical discomfort. The consequences were more than just awkward; he began suffering from chronic neck and back pain, leading to persistent physical distress and insomnia.
The conductor's plight went viral after images of his cramped working conditions began circulating online. The story eventually reached Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who intervened to ensure Ansari could continue his service without compromising his health.
On May 5, the TGSRTC headquarters at Bus Bhavan in Musheerabad issued an official order granting Ansari an "Out of Designation" (OD) duty.
"While everyone says height is a blessing, for me, it was becoming a source of constant physical agony. I am incredibly relieved to finally have a solution," Ansari shared.
