KOZHIKODE: A KSRTC bus diverted from NH 66 after running out of money to pay at the toll plaza. The incident happened around 3 pm on June 4. However, the visuals of the bus diverting from one way were released the other day. The KSRTC super-fast bus, which had entered the National Highway Bypass from Thondayad, reached the toll plaza when the staff realized that there was not enough balance in the FASTag.

The bus then turned around and returned from there. The bus traveled three kilometers on the speed track in the middle. The journey was then shifted to the slow track after the people in other vehicles reacted. The bus entered the service road at the exit near Kozhikode Kitchens and continued its journey. The bus caused a huge traffic jam while entering the service road. Visuals of this have also been released.

If the KSRTC driver pays through his UPI at times when there is no money in the FASTag, there is no way to reimburse the amount. This is why the driver went back without paying. KSRTC charges Rs 445 for one-way FASTag. It is reported that if you pay through UPI, you will have to pay Rs 556.25.
