Not only national highway but also MC road in state will become four-lane, Kerala will undergo big change in 2025

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The work of widening the national highway from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram to a width of 45 meters is going on at a fast pace. Kerala Public Works Department Minister PA Mohammed Riyas said that this work will be completed by 2025. Along with this, MC Road in the state will also be developed into a four-lane road, the minister said. The MC Road from Kesavadasapuram in Thiruvananthapuram to Angamaly will become a four-lane road. The minister was speaking after inaugurating the renovated Nedumangad-Vattapara road in Thiruvananthapuram.

The Nedumangad-Vattappara road is a main road that connects the Thiruvananthapuram-Shenkottai state highway and the MC road. This road was renovated spending Rs 7 crores. The 6.45 km long road starting from Valikode and ending at Vattapara has been upgraded to modern standards. Concrete gutters, culverts and retaining walls have also been constructed on both sides of the road where necessary. There are also markings, studs, signboards, etc. on the road to ensure road safety. Food and Civil Supplies Minister GR Anil presided over the program held at Govt UP School, Venkode.
