MUNNAR: A Tamil Nadu youth committed suicide by jumping from Kolukkumalai in Munnar while his friends watched helplessly. N. Dravinesh (25), a native of Abhiramapuram, Chennai, died in the incident.

Tourists and locals were left shocked over the incident that took place at around 7 am yesterday. Dravinesh was a member of a 15-member tourist group that had reached Munnar from Chennai.

While the group was enjoying the sunrise at Simhapara in Kolukkumalai early in the morning, Dravinesh unexpectedly jumped into the creek. The body was found after a search by the Santhanpara police and the Munnar Fire Force using drones and other means.

The body was found in the Kurangani police station limits on the Tamil Nadu side of the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. The police concluded that it was a suicide due to a love failure. Dravinesh was mentally disturbed for a few days due to a love failure. It was his friends who suggested it and took him to Munnar to lift his mood.
