Kerala ranks first for its 22% tax on motor vehicles

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Apart from the increase in taxes on motorcars, the Kerala government has measured up moves to increase appeal fees for cars employing fancy numbers. Kerala ranks top for deducting the most tax (21%) in India for motor vehicles, but still, the state is salivating over more taxes to unleash itself from the shackles of economic debt.

A one-time tax on Motor vehicles in the price range of 2 lakhs got enhanced by 2 percent. As of now, the tax for motor vehicles in the 2 lakh price range is 12 percent which will jump to 14 after the new tax implementation. The government has also upped the tax for luxurious cars by 1 percent.
