CHENNAI: A Malayalee woman railway employee was brutally attacked in Tamil Nadu. The 27-year-old woman, a native of Kollam, and a railway gate keeper was attacked at Poorvika Chatram near Shenkottai in Tamil Nadu. She was attacked when she was in the guard room at the railway station. She was hit on her face by a stone and then dragged through the railway track. The assailant tried to sexually abuse her also. The woman seriously injured has been admitted at the Tirunelveli Railway Hospital. The assailant has not been traced so far.
The incident happened last night at 8.30 pm at an isolated place. The assailant attacked her from behind when she was in the guard room. She was not able to flee from his hands. He did not pay heed to her request of taking all her gold and spare her life. The assailant with the phone’s receiver hit her on her head. She used force and ran to the railway station for safety. In the meanwhile, the assailant also escaped.
The police started an investigation by a team led by Tenkasi SP.
