Barber pushes migrant worker to death; incident in Malabar express

KOZHIKODE: The railway police have confirmed that it is a migrant worker who was killed by another passenger near Koyilandy. The killed one is suspected to be around 25 years of age and the body is currently in Kozhikode medical college mortuary.

The incident happened near the Koyilandy railway gate. The police reached the spot to conduct the preliminary test and collected the blood and hair samples of the victim. The railway employees was also been questioned in the process. The incident happened in Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram Malabar express in the dead hours of the night. The police have arrested Tamil Nadu, Sivaganga native Sonu Muthu.

Sonu Muthu had a verbal fight with the migrant worker which extended to the level that made the former push the worker out of the train. The passengers who saw this informed the nearby railway police about the incident. Sonu Muthu has admitted to his mistake and said it was rather an instantaneous reaction with no ill intent. Muthu is a barber in Kanhangad and was on his way back from Coimbatore after purchasing essential items. The police confirmed both of them to be in an inebriated condition when the incident took place.
