KASARGOD: There has been no respite from the government's end to the 1031 people omitted from the endosulfan list. During a medical camp conducted in 2017, a list of 1905 people affected by the disease was approved by the then-deputy collector. The list was also publicized.

The list was about to be presented before the endosulfan cell when the fraud came open. The 1031 people omitted won't be subjected to any compensation or future medical assistance from the government. Doubts are at large about higher political intrusions to alter the names from the list.

The People's Front organized protests years back to make government include the names of people in the list which was approved by the medical board. Then, MP Binoy Vishwam and E Chandrasekharan got involved assuring help. The issue was fixed for discussion in Kasargod. But after all these months, only 76 people got included back in the list. The issue was brought again to CM's notice but still, there are more than 500 people less than 18 years waiting for some mercy from the government.
