Elephant attack: Tragic end for researcher

AGALI: Vishal Srimal (23), a native of Rajasthan, died after being attacked by a wild elephant in the Tamil Nadu forest area at Anaikatti. He had come to the Salim Ali bird sanctuary for research. Vishal was attacked by the elephant when he was walking inside the campus on Tuesday night. Vishal was rushed to the Kottathara Tribal Hospital by those who came running after hearing the screams. He was taken to a private hospital in Coimbatore for specialist treatment after sustaining a fractured chest and bleeding in his right leg, but his life could not be saved. Coimbatore Thadagam police have taken action.
