THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kundara Johny's role as Parameswaran, Keerikadan Jose's best friend in Kireedam movie, changed his fate in Malayalam cinema. Johnny immortalized Parameswaran even when the movie was translated into four languages. The cruel Parameswaran had a change in character in the movie's sequel 'Chenkol'. Both characters from different streams were safe in Johny's hands. He did mostly villainous roles in a film career spanning over 40 years. But in life Johnny was a hero. His father and mother did not watch Johny's films as he did cruel characters. He stopped acting in rape scenes after marriage.

After graduation, he became a maths teacher at Kollam Parallel College. Later, while working as a sales executive, his friend's father produced the film 'Nityavasantham'. Jonny also asked for a chance. That was the first film. Johny immortalized the role he got without any hesitation and did not look back. He played a remarkable role in AB Raj's 'Kazhukan'. 'Peruvannapurathe Visheshangal proved that he is also capable of humour. In the last film, Meppadiyaan, he played the role of a father who has problems with his leg, just like in real life. Johny used to tell his close friends that Malayalam cinema didn't use him properly. But his farewell was without any complaints.
