'Chachan' shocked the kidnapping gang; provided crucial information as well

KOLLAM: The seven-and-a-half-year-old brother addressed as ''chachan' by the six-year-old girl who was the victim of kidnapping played a crucial role in ensnaring the accused.
He did not flinch when a car suddenly came and tried to snatch his sister. He retaliated and used force to recover his sister from their hands. The woman in the car hit him with a stick. Without letting go of his sister's hand, he snatched the stick with his other hand and hit back.

'We thought that the brother would run away scared but his response shocked us', the abductors revealed to the investigating team. As the car sped away with his sister, he came home screaming and told his grandmother what happened. He accurately explained the matter to the locals and the police who came to know about the incident. The brother's statement that this car was roaming around the house for days was also crucial. ADGP MR Ajithkumar presented a gift to the six-year-old boy who provided crucial information.

In the case, charges of kidnapping, illegal confinement and bodily injury have been charged against the accused. Sections under the Juvenile Justice Act were also imposed. All three accused in the case were remanded till the 15th of this month
