PATHANAMTHITTA: The procession carrying the revered 'Thanga Angi' over the idol for the Mandala Puja at Sabarimala is set to commence from Aranmula Parthasarathy Temple on Saturday at 7 am. The ceremonial journey will involve visits to various temples culminating in its arrival at Pampa on the 26th at 1:30 pm. Devotees will have the opportunity for darshan at Pampa Ganapati temple.
On the 3rd, the procession will proceed arriving at Saramkuthi by 5 pm via Neelimala, Apachemedu and Sabaripeeth. Devaswom police officers will escort the procession to Sannidhanam. It will be received by Thanthri and Melshanti at the Sopanam after which it will be taken inside the sanctum. The temple will then be closed and worship will be conducted.
The Mandala Puja is scheduled for the 27th between 10:30 am and 11 am marking the culmination of the Mandalakala Pilgrimage at 11 pm when the deity is put to rest. Furthermore, the temple is set to reopen for the Makaravilakku festival on the 30th at 4 pm leading up to the auspicious Makaravilakku on January 15.
Aranmula Devaswom Assistant Commissioner R Prakash and Aranmula Devaswom Administrative Officer V Jayakumar have confirmed the completion of preparations for the Thanga Angi Radha Ghoshayatra.
