KOCHI: Care and Share International, led by actor Mammootty, will implement the Vidyamritham scheme for further studies to poor students scoring good marks in SSLC and Plus Two exams. Swami Nandatmajananda of Sri Ramakrishna Mission inaugurated the fourth phase of the project being implemented in collaboration with the MGM Group institutions.

For this, 250 students will be selected from economically backward, students losing their mother or father, children from families with diseases like cancer, students who cannot study in better professional institutions due to living conditions, and tribal children. The MoU of the project was signed by Care and Share chief patron Mammootty and MGM Group Vice Chairman Japson Varghese.

Assistance will be provided for further studies in engineering, pharmacy, graduate and diploma courses.

Mammootty said the economic situation at home is hindering the further studies of many bright children and the aim of Vidyamritham is to pave the way for their dreams to come true.

MGM Group Chairman Dr Geevarghese Yohannan, Care and Share International Foundation Executive Director Dr Viju Jacob, managing director Thomas Kurian Marottipuzha, assistant commissioner of police P Rajkumar and others participated.

25 children continuing their studies as beneficiaries of Vidyamritham scheme in previous years also attended the function.
