Woman loses balance on treadmill, falls to death from gym window; terrifying video

JAKARTA: A young woman suffered a tragic death as she fell from a window while working out on a treadmill. The incident took place in Pontianak, Indonesia. The CCTV footage of the incident is circulating on social media. The woman who was busy engaged in the workout session, lost balance from the treadmill and was dragged backwards to the window where she tumbled out.

According to reports, it is learned that while walking on the treadmill, the woman tried to bend down and take a towel which resulted in her balance going askew. The woman tried to grab the frame of the window but failed to make the grip which resulted in the fatal fall from the third floor. The others present in the gym rushed her to a hospital but she couldn’t be saved. The autopsy report pointed to the head injuries suffered in the fall to be the reason for death. The treadmill and the window at the gym were apart by just 60cm.

The police said that the treadmill was set up inside the gym in a very dangerous manner. The gym owner told the police that he had instructed the trainers to close the windows during working hours. The owner stated that there were stickers on the windows advising people to not open it.

The gym trainer was resting in a nearby room when the accident happened. The police are interrogating all the witnesses to the accident. The authorities have also instructed to re-examine the permit of the gym.
