DALLAS: Playback singing legend Dr K.J. Yesudas made his first public appearance in years at the Golden Jubilee-Thiruvonam celebration of the Kerala Association of Dallas in Dallas, US. Not deviating from his customary practice, Yesudas began by singing the hymn penned by Sree Narayana Gurudeva, ‘Jaathi Bhedam Matha Dwesham’.
Thunderous applause filled the auditorium when Yesudas, in his ethereal voice, started singing the iconic "Keralaam Keralam Kelikottuyarunna Keralam” song. The legendary singer then inaugurated the event. For the last few years, Yesudas has been residing in the United States with his son and family.
Malayalees have been long waiting for their beloved singer to return to Kerala or at least make an appearance. Since COVID, Yesudas has stayed away from the limelight to spend time with his family.
In one of the recent episodes of a television reality show, a popular music director revealed getting details that Yesudas would soon return to Kerala.
