‘Amritanandamayi and former CM intervened; still cannot marry that girl’

Edavela Babu had served as the secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) for many years. He recently stepped down from the post after leading the organization for 25 years. He now opened up in an interview to a media on why he is not married.

He wanted someone who knew music and dance as his life partner. When his family was looking for a bride for him, a girl in his family confessed her love for him. The two later fell in love. However, both the families were against the relationship.

The girl's family did not like the proposal as he was an actor. He waited for more than eight years for the family to change their minds. There were problems between the two families. Even Amritanandamayi and Karunanidhi had intervened in the matter, says Edavela Babu.

Amritanandamayi knew that girl. The actor said that he went to Amritapuri to talk about her. Amritanandamayi directed to go ahead with the marriage.
