Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has teamed up with Tamil's favourite hero Surya for director KV Anand's latest film "Kaappaan'. According to latest reports, the film, which was supposed to release on August 30, has been postponed to September 20.
Sources from the film industry say that the producers of Kaapan decided to change the release date since they wanted to avoid a clash with Prabhas' ambitious project 'Saaho.' Earlier, Saaho's makers had announced that the film would release on August 30. So the producers of Kaapan decided to avoid the clash as a simultaneous release can affect the collections of both films.
It is learnt that Kaappaan is a political film which has Mohanlal playing the character of Indian Prime Minister while Surya does the role of an NSG commando. The film also has an ensemble cast including Arya, Boman Irani and Sayesha. Reports also suggest that the film reflects the current scenario of the Indo-Pak relationship.
