NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was released from jail after being granted bail in the liquor policy corruption case. Party workers gave him a grand reception outside the Tihar jail. In response to the developments, Kejriwal remarked that despite attempts to weaken him, he remains unbroken and resilient.
"Firstly, I thank the God whose blessings have brought me here. I also thank the lakhs of people who have gathered here despite the heavy rain. My mental strength has grown even more than before, and I assure you that no prison can weaken me," Kejriwal said.
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court granted bail to Kejriwal in the case registered by the CBI. Justice Suryakant, who granted bail, pointed out that keeping someone in jail indefinitely is not right and that the trial may not be completed soon. The decision was made while considering the petition filed by Kejriwal challenging the CBI arrest.
