‘I was only following their instructions; they were the real decision-makers behind CJP’: Abhijeet Dipke

NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has said he was not the real decision-maker behind the party’s activities and had merely followed the instructions of its co-conveners, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, whom he credited with driving the movement forward.

In an emotional 16-minute video message released on Dussehra, Dipke described Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das as his brothers and explained how his role in the organisation differed from what people might have assumed. “My job was only to follow Ashutosh and Saurav’s instructions. From the outside, it might look like I was the leader, but I was not. It was Ashutosh and Saurav who were the leaders. They would tell me, ‘You have to go there tomorrow’ or ‘You have to do this tomorrow’, and I would quietly agree, saying, ‘Okay, I’ll do it,’” he said.

Dipke also said the CJP had no plans to stage another protest until Diwali. Recalling his bond with the two co-conveners, he said the three had created a WhatsApp group to share memes. He added that their absence had left him deeply saddened and emotionally distressed.
