Gayathri Suresh’s bikini look in ‘Disco’ leaves her mother upset: ‘I had vowed never to wear one’

Malayalam actress Gayathri Suresh has revealed that her mother was upset after seeing her in a bikini in the teaser of her upcoming film Disco. The actress also spoke about how her views on revealing outfits have changed over the years.

Gayathri, who made her acting debut opposite Kunchacko Boban in Jamna Pyari after winning the Miss Kerala title, has since appeared in Malayalam films and explored opportunities in Tamil and Telugu cinema. Her bikini look in the Disco teaser recently attracted attention, particularly because she had previously vowed never to wear a bikini. Speaking about her mother’s reaction, Gayathri said she had not informed her mother about the bikini shoot beforehand.

“My mother said she was very upset when she saw it. I hadn’t told her that I would be shooting in a bikini,” the actress said.

Gayathri admitted that her attitude towards revealing outfits had changed with time. She said she had once firmly resolved never to wear such clothes, including a bikini, but her outlook on life had gradually evolved.

“I had sworn never to wear revealing clothes. I had made a promise to myself that I would never wear a bikini. But, over time, my mindset changed, as did the way I looked at life,” she said.

Thanking director Ullas Chemban for giving her the opportunity to take that step, Gayathri described Disco as a stylish film with an international aesthetic.
