PATHANAMTHITTA: Congress District Panchayat member Sreena Devi Kunjamma and KSU leader Feni Ninan came forward with an explanation regarding the incident at the Adoor Police Station. Sreena Devi Kunjamma denied any act of violence or misconduct at the police station, and claimed that they visited the station just to identify the accused person.
This clarification came after visuals emerged showing Sreena Devi Kunjamma entering the station and threatening an individual held in the lock-up.
“No violence took place either inside or outside the police station. We reached the station as requested by the police and cooperated with the procedures. I didn't enter the cell, nor was the accused threatened. However, I asked the accused how he was doing.
CPM leaders in Adoor have stooped to supporting Rajan—a YouTuber known for his highly derogatory remarks against women. I will reveal more details regarding the questionable lifestyle of Manoj, the CPM Adoor Area Secretary, in the coming days,” said Sreena Devi Kunjamma.
Footage emerged showing a group entering the police station premises and assaulting an accused person who was in police custody. It was alleged that Sreena Devi Kunjamma entered the station and threatened the accused, who was inside the lock-up. Police officers can also be seen in the footage, standing by as silent witnesses to these events.
The police took YouTuber Rajan Joseph into custody in connection with a case involving the defamation of Sreena Devi Kunjamma via social media. The footage initially showed a group of Youth Congress activists assaulting him on the police station premises. The CCTV visuals also capture them blocking a police jeep in an attempt to attack Rajan Joseph, as well as forcibly entering the police station.
