NEW DELHI: Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty has been conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the country's highest film honour. The official announcement was made by Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Veshna. "Honoured to announce that the Dadasaheb Phalke Selection Jury has decided to award legendary actor, Sh. Mithun Chakraborty Ji for his iconic contribution to Indian Cinema," the minister wrote on his X-page. The award will be presented at the 70th National Film Awards ceremony to be held on October 8, 2024.
