Mohanlal is one of the most cherished superstars of Malayalees. The actor, affectionately known as "Lalettan" by his fans, is admired across generations. Recently, an old statement made by Mohanlal's mother, Santhakumari, has gone viral on social media. In the video, filmed a few years ago, Santhakumari shares how Mohanlal would make time to visit her despite his hectic schedule.
Mohanlal’s mother’s words:
“If Lalu gets time, he will come to me. There’s no fixed time for that. But if he comes and has to leave the same day, I tell him not to come. It’s difficult that way. I ask him to come only if he can stay for at least two days. I understand his work commitments, so I don’t have any complaints. My son will come whenever he gets time. Both of them (Mohanlal and his wife Suchitra) come together. He calls me every day; it’s a habit. If I am late in calling him, Lalu will call me, and if he is late, I will call him. Suchitra also calls regularly. After the demise of my other son, Lalu has become even more strict in calling me daily."
Fans have flooded her comments with love and admiration. Many commented that she is a fortunate mother to have given Malayalam cinema the gift of Mohanlal. Mohanlal’s directorial debut Barroz hit theaters last week, and his upcoming film Thudharam, directed by Tharun Moorthy, is set to release on the 30th of this month.
