NEW DELHI: Hours after his viral performance imitating PM Modi at the Chhatron Ki Goonj event in Indore, stand-up comedian Pulkit Mani is facing the heat as his scheduled Noida event has been reportedly cancelled. Pulkit, on his social media, informed that unforeseen circumstances led to the cancellation of the event, and he also apologised to his followers.
However, on a quirky note, Pulkit used the meme from ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ with the caption ‘ Time to go underground' to let people know about his current situation.
Pulkit’s performance at the event left Opposition Leader of Parliament, Rahul Gandhi, in splits. However, a wider audience from the political arena called it a brazen mockery of the prime minister of India and condemned Rahul Gandhi’s tacit endorsement of the show.
Hours after the video went viral, Pulkit came under heavy criticism after BJP took up the issue and heavily criticised the star and the Congress leaders. The exact reason behind cancelling the Nodia show has not been clarified yet.
